North Shore Seedy Saturday

Kick off your growing season by attending the North Shore Seedy Saturday event! This is your perfect opportunity to share seeds and growing tips with fellow gardeners.

Bring your seeds to trade (in labeled packages), buy vegetable seedlings and get advice from knowledgable gardeners on growing veggies, saving seed, pollinator gardens and flowers and medicinal native plants.

This year Seedy Saturday will be held at Lonsdale Quay Market on Saturday, March 3rd from 10am-1pm.

As part of our Seedy Saturday celebrations, we will also be offering a free workshop by Lori Weidenhammer, the author of Victory Gardens for Bees : A DIY guide to saving the bees. She believes that “each of us can do our part to make gardens and neighbourhoods healthy sanctuaries for bees, which play a critical role in the survival of many plant communities and the continuations of life on this planet.”

This GardenSmart workshop will begin promptly at 11:00am. This is a family friendly event and donations to support Edible Garden Project programming are welcome.
